Day by day itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania – Welcome to Arusha

Upon arrival, you will be picked up from the airport and transferred to Arusha Farm House. As part of your first-day experience, you’ll enjoy a guided city sightseeing tour of Arusha. This excursion includes visits to local markets, the vibrant Maasai market, Cultural Heritage Centre, and the Arusha City Museum offering a great introduction to the region’s culture and history.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Elephants & Baobabs

We will pick you up from your hotel at 7:30 AM, where your guide and personal chef will meet you. From there, you’ll embark on a two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its diverse landscapes and iconic baobab trees. The park is home to the largest population of elephants in Tanzania, offering exceptional opportunities to witness their social behavior up close. Your game drive will follow routes based on recent wildlife sightings, especially of predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, which are more elusive. Herbivores like giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and others are abundant and often easy to spot.

Around midday, we’ll stop for a picnic lunch at the scenic Tarangire River picnic site. You’ll enjoy your meal with a view of the river and wildlife and maybe some curious monkeys or baboons nearby (don’t worry, they’re harmless but playful). After lunch, we’ll continue the game drive before exiting the park around 4:30 PM.

As the sun sets, head to Tarangire Safari Lodge, where you’ll spend the night in a comfortable tented camp overlooking the Tarangire River.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater – A Natural Wonder

After breakfast, you’ll begin the scenic drive from Karatu to Serengeti National Park, a journey that takes approximately six hours, including stops. Along the way, you’ll pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where we’ll pause for about 20 minutes to take in the stunning views. There is also an optional stop at a Maasai village, where you can learn about the traditions and culture of the Maasai a community known for their historic lion-chasing and warrior rituals, such as drinking animal blood (a tradition no longer widely practiced). This cultural visit typically takes between 20 and 45 minutes.

We’ll arrive in Serengeti National Park in the late afternoon. After lunch, you’ll enjoy a game drive through the Seronera area in Central Serengeti, known for its rich wildlife. Later, we’ll continue west toward your accommodation, where you’ll have the chance to unwind and take in a breathtaking Serengeti sunset.

Day 4: Central Serengeti – The Land of Endless Plains

After breakfast, you’ll set out on a full-day game drive to explore more remote areas of the Serengeti. As this is your third day in the park, we’ll venture further from the central region to areas known for high concentrations of wildlife and fewer crowds increasing your chances of spotting a variety of animals, including predators in action. Later in the afternoon, we’ll return to your accommodation at Safari Haven Serengeti Camp, where you can relax and reflect on the day’s safari experiences.

Day 5: Full-Day Safari in Central Serengeti

After an early breakfast, we’ll embark on a morning game drive, offering excellent opportunities to spot a variety of wildlife. In the afternoon, we’ll return to camp for lunch and pack up. As we leave the Serengeti, we’ll enjoy one last game drive on the way out. Afterwards, we’ll drive approximately three hours to Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp located on the rim of the stunning Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 6: North Serengeti – Searching for the Great Migration

After an early breakfast, we’ll begin our descent into the Ngorongoro Crater at 6:15 AM, embarking on a quest to spot the elusive black rhino. While rhinos are among the hardest animals to find, many other species are easier to see thanks to the open crater floor. Following a midday lunch, we’ll continue with a game drive before ascending the crater rim to pack for your return journey to Arusha.

Day 7: Full-Day Safari in Northern Serengeti – River Crossings

Immerse yourself in Tanzania’s great outdoors on this full-day tour to Materuni and Kikuletwa perfect for adventure seekers, culture enthusiasts, and active travelers. Begin with a hike to the stunning Materuni Waterfalls, where you can take a refreshing swim. Next, visit a local farm to discover the rich heritage of Tanzania’s coffee industry. Finally, unwind at the natural Kikuletwa Hot Springs before returning to the lodge in the evening.

Day 8: Farewell to the Serengeti – Flight to Arusha

This is your final day with us. We will ensure you’re comfortably dropped off at the airport at your preferred time.
